Meet Mrs. Reiffenberger
I would like to let you know a little bit about myself. I grew up on a farm in Minnesota. My dad is an agronomist and farmer while my mom enjoys retirement after teaching for 34 years. I am the oldest of three children. My sister lives in Portland, Oregon with her husband, and my brother lives in St. Paul, Minnesota with his wife. I moved to Sioux Falls to attend Augustana College where I majored in Elementary Education and Deaf Education. This will be my tenth year teaching and each year it becomes more evident how fortunate I am to be part of the Harrisburg School District. My husband, Chad, works for SDN Communications. Our daughter, Hadley, keeps us busy and we love spending every minute we can with her. We enjoy spending time with family, traveling, and relaxing at the lake cabin in our free time.
My Educational Philosophy
I will expect a lot from your child. It is my hope that the first graders in 1R will understand the value of hard work and giving their best effort the very first time. Developing a sense of responsibility for their own learning, their behavior and their choices will be a major focus. I want my students to become intrinsically motivated and feel a sense of accomplishment while they are working through various activities in and out of the classroom. We will accomplish these goals through authentic experiences in a comfortable, organized and safe learning environment where your child will feel confident enough to take the risks that are needed to succeed in learning.
